Alan Wake is a psychological horror video game developed by Remedy Entertainment and published by Microsoft Game Studios. Released in 2010 for the Xbox 360 and later for PC, the game has become a cult classic due to its unique storytelling, atmosphere, and gameplay mechanics.
The game follows the story of Alan Wake, a best-selling thriller novelist who suffers from writer’s block. He travels to the small town of Bright Falls with his wife, Alice, hoping that the change of scenery will help him overcome his creative difficulties. However, Alice mysteriously disappears, and Alan finds himself trapped in a nightmarish world where his writings come to life. The game is heavily influenced by the works of Stephen King, David Lynch’s Twin Peaks, and other elements of horror and psychological thrillers.
